There are many factors that go into Power Issues & DC Jack repairs, but the main problem generally stems from the DC Jack Connector.  The DC Connector varies in sizes and styles which help prevent incompatible sources and loads.  Just because it fits, doesn't always mean it will work.

Check to make sure you are using the correct AC Adapter for your laptop.  Your laptop will usually say under the battery what that Wattage and Amperage that your system is compatible with.

How to troubleshoot Laptop DC Jack Issues?

  1. If you can, remove your battery and test with only the AC Adapter
  2. Remove Battery & AC Adapter, Press and hold power on button for 30 seconds (Power Drain) -- Go to Step 1
  3. While the battery is installed, check to see if the charging light is on
  4. Have you tested with another known good AC Adapter?
  5. Is the DC Jack Connector loose?
  6. Have you tried another outlet?
